Our Story: A Family Tradition Rooted in Greece

Cafeneo isn't simply a coffee shop. It's the continuation of a family tradition that began generations ago on the Greek island of Kos.

Our family's story stretches back to the village of Antimachia, where the idea of gathering around coffee, food, and conversation was an essential part of everyday life.

In 1970, our grandfather, Antonios Fessaras, arrived in the United States and made his way to Delaware, carrying with him the values of Greek hospitality and the dream of bringing people together.

Decades later, that dream took on a new life when Cafeneo opened its doors in May 2023.

Today, we're proud to share a little piece of our Greek heritage with the Newark community, one cup of coffee and one welcoming experience at a time.
