Our Story
Greek Tradition, Modern HospitalityA Café Built Around Connection
Our family story began in Antimachia, a small town on the island of Kos in Greece. In 1970, our grandfather, Antonios Fessaras, arrived at John F. Kennedy International Airport and made his way to Delaware. At 60 years old, with a cup of coffee and a dream, he came to Newark to continue the family café tradition.
His goal was simple: to bring people together over handmade pastries, coffee, and genuine hospitality. Years later, that dream was placed in the hands of his grandson, Tony Fessaras, who brought the family café experience to Delaware with the opening of Cafeneo in 2023.
Today, Cafeneo honors those roots while creating something modern for the Newark community. With every pastry, meal, and cup of coffee, our goal is to share a taste of Greece and make every guest feel cared for, comfortable, and welcome to stay awhile.
